The humble highlighter might not usually be the sexiest of stationery, but in Sterk Hvalros’ hands it comes pretty darn close. The Minnesota-based artist and designer prioritises the analogue process of creating schmick drawings, prints and designs, finding beauty with even the most ordinary of utensils. Sterk’s highlighter series is especially impressive, given we all figured ourselves quite the Picassos in primary school with our fluroscent markers and tempting margins of math books.
