Dry cake, begone!

A traditional tres leches (‘three milks’) is a deliciously light sponge cake made by soaking it in three types of milk. Food stylist and recipe-maker Maite Aizpurua has taken her Aunt Ani’s recipe of a rum and coffee tres leches and shared it with the world (from the bottom of our hungry stomachs: thank you).

Maite adds helpful hints throughout the recipe so you can perfectly recreate this masterpiece that will be a big hit for any holiday event or upcoming celebration. The key tip is in the name: this baby has to soak, soak, soak. If you are averse to the word ‘moist’, sorry, but it’s relevant here – this recipe is the perfect antidote to a dry cake. Whip out your whisks and get those eggs cracking, it’s baking time. Cheers, Aunt Ani.
