kitiya palaskas’ wish you were here exhibition opening
Talented artist (and frankie chum) Kitiya Palaskas has an exhibition opening in Melbourne tonight – wahoo!
If you’ve never clapped eyes on Kitiya Palaskas’ colourful artworks, then you just don’t know the true meaning of happiness (well, you may know ‘happiness’ – but not in the dazzlingly bright and ridiculously fun Palaskian sense). For those of you who are long-time fans of the local crafty lady – and indeed those of you who are unacquainted with her work, but wouldn’t mind having a gander – we suggest you pop along to Outré Gallery (at 249 Elizabeth Street in Melbourne’s CBD) tonight at, oh, around about 6pm. Because that’s when and where Ms Palaskas’ Wish You Were Here exhibition will be opening – hurrah!
The collection includes felt-based collages and soft sculptures that explore the act of collecting souvenirs while on vacation, and the nostalgia associated with glorifying these collected treasures when the trip is over. Head on over to the Facebook event page to stay in the know. PS If you can’t make it tonight, don’t fret – you’ve got till Thursday February 14th to sneak in a visit.
