Repeat Gingham Blocks 1-2, then Gingham Block 1 once. This gives you a total of five gingham ‘blocks’ with 5 ‘squares’ making up each block for a total of 25 ‘squares’ on the front of your custion.

Edging
The edging will be worked in rounds.

Round 1: Using C1, ch1, dc into each st across top edge (50 dc), then without turning your work, ch 2 (creating a corner), and work 50 dc evenly spaced along the first side edge, ch 2, work 1 dc in each st along bottom edge (50 dc), ch 2, work 50 dc evenly spaced along the last side edge, ch 2, sl st to 1st dc to join.

Round 2: Ch 1, dc in each st around, working (dc, ch 2, dc) in each corner space, sl st to 1st dc to join.

Row 1: Tr into 3rd chain from hook and each ch across (50 st). Turn.

Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as 1st tr), tr into each st across. (50 st) Turn.

Repeat Row 2 until there are 50 rows of tr.

Work edging as for front side of cushion.

This completes the back side of your cushion (approx 42 cm x 42 cm).

Make up
With wrong sides together, dc around 3 sides of cushion, add your cushion insert and close up the last side using dc across.
