We’ve all scored a treasure or two from a secondhand store, but one Amsterdam-based designer takes upcycling to a whole new level. Trained goldsmith Gesine Hackenberg transforms vintage ceramic dinnerware from being cute dishes to stunning jewelry. Who knew that wearing a ceramic bowl around your neck could be so striking (and lightweight)? We love the creativity and sustainability of her work, and the opportunity to say, “Like these earrings? They used to be a plate!”
