FRANKIE’S GARAGE SALE TRAIL

Hello there, frankie friends. We are in the process of girding our loins for the Garage Sale Trail on Saturday October 26th – aka Bargain-ageddon, aka Vintage-gasm 2013. Thousands of households across Australia will be flogging trash and treasure from driveways, porches and, yes, garages next weekend, which is a bit bloody exciting.

You can find more about the sales going on near you via the Garage Sale Trail website, or create your own Treasure Trail like our editor Jo Walker.  Jo has been named an ambassador for the event, which makes sense as she is sometimes a bit dusty and is worth roughly $2 on the open market. She’s created a frankie-themed Treasure Trail around her local Melbourne hood you can look at here for inspiration (may contain vintage cabinetry and an “adult-sized tricycle”). Plus, there’s plenty more to be had in other cities, too.

On the other hand, if the sound of a household purge sounds delightful to you – think of the closet feng shui – you still have time to organise and register your own sale online. Sell off your worldly possessions for loads of lovely cash, a chance to get to know the neighbours and the warm glow of eco-friendly reuse and recycling? Why not?
