frankie presents: locker room talk, an exhibition of rad aussie artists
Look forward to a rad exhibition in Melbourne, online events and the chance to chat to amazing local artists.
Two of our favourite Melbourne-based creatives Louise Brough and Kate Pullen have teamed up to curate Locker Room Talk, a special art space and exhibition that celebrates dozens of ace Australian artists. We’re stoked to present the event, which will take place over at No Vacancy Gallery in Melbourne from March 28 to April 3.
The agenda? Bringing together inspiring women and non-binary creatives to spark meaningful conversation in a positive space – flipping the negative term ‘locker room talk’ on its head. More than 30 artists will take part, including Ashley Ronning, Ellen Porteus, Mariko Konno, Wanissa Somsuphangsri and frankie’s former design whiz Casey Schuurman.
Melburnians will be able to pop by the free exhibition and connect with these top-notch artists. Plus, there are ticketed evening events both online and in person, so creatives interstate and beyond can join in, too. The brain-tickling events include a craft session with Kitiya Palaskas and a panel discussion exploring the wonderful, tricky and sometimes uncomfortable aspects of working in the creative industry; and a snazzy closing party. Word has it, our mates at Minor Figures will be there serving up espresso martinis. Yum!
Locker Room Talk is sponsored by the good people at Who Gives a Crap, Minor Figures, Wacom, Streamtime and Moody Incense.
