frankie christmas wishlist – shannon jenkins
Our assistant editor is dreaming of witchy wares and roller skates this Christmas.
Alright, pals. Before you dig into the first frankie Christmas wishlist of the year, please set the mood by dimming the lights, popping some gingerbread in the oven (so the smell wafts around the room, obviously) and putting on Michael Bublé’s Christmas. OK, now that you’ve done all that, gather round and get a load of this gift-filled goodness! And stay tuned for more Chrissie wishlists in the coming weeks.
Clockwise from top-left:
1. This pinafore by Melbourne label Kalaurie is a magical combo of romantic, moody and versatile. Imagine all the things I could layer under its lovely black folds!
2. It’s high time that I expand my sunglasses collection, and these milky emerald frames by Radical Yes are the perfect addition.
3. I’m a jewellery gal. I’ve got boxes of the stuff! Most of it is silver, though, so I’m working on slowly collecting gold pieces, like this witchy Charmed ring by Sacreflux.
4. WAH-WAH is one of those brands that I’ve admired from afar for years, but for some weird reason have never gathered up the pennies to make a purchase. Perhaps it’s because all of their jumpers are really, really cool, and I just can’t decide which one I want. For the purpose of this here list, I’m going with the label’s rad collab with artist Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran.
5. As a music lover, it’s a wee bit sacrilegious of me to walk around with only one working earbud all day. But alas, that's the reality. I’d like to remedy that with Samsung’s pastel-hued Galaxy Buds2 Pro.
6. Cowboy boots have been making their return for a while, so I was already keeping my eye out for a good boot to stomp around in. But what's really selling me on the idea lately is my recent addiction to playing Red Dead Redemption 2 (a video game about outlaws that takes place at the end of the Wild West era). I now wish to procure these black beauties by ROC and fulfil all my boot scootin' fantasies.
7. After a particularly gloomy winter, there is nothing I look forward to more than lounging beside a big, blue body of water. And I may as well look cute and comfy while doing it, so here’s the sunny towel of my dreams, courtesy of The Beach People.
8. This year, after a long time spent in campus colleges, spare rooms and share houses, I decided to live on my own for the first time. The whole experience has been great! One downside, however, is my severe lack of stuff. I’m embarrassed to admit that I still don’t own an oven mitt and have been relying on tea towels to avoid burns. This baggu mushroom mitt would make a great first mitt. I just know it.
9. What I lack in oven mitts, I make up for in cushions. What can I say? I guess I’m just a decorative cushion kinda gal. Just try and stop me from adding this delightful green velvet pea cushion by Kip&Co to my abode.
10. I’ve been recovering from a broken foot for the past two months, so naturally, over that time I’ve been thinking about all the ways I could re-injure myself. Just kidding. I do really miss roller-skating, though (I used to be quite the little skater, you see). Once this foot is fully healed, I plan on gliding through life in these glorious plum-red skates by Impala.
