five makers to check out at this year's bowerbird design market
The bi-annual market is a haven for small makers.
Calling all design lovers and crafty folks – the Bowerbird Design Market is back! From May 3-5, over 200 local designers will be hawking their excellent wares at Adelaide Showground. In usual Bowerbird fashion, there's also a full program of workshops for adults and kiddies on the cards (fancy weaving your own wall hanging?), as well as a never-ending supply of coffee and noms to feast on. While we’d love to run you through the full list of A+ makers who’ll be on site, that’s just not practical. Instead, you'll have to keep your eyes peeled for some of the talents listed below, or, you can spend some time studying the full list here.
Apiary Made
Not only does plastic wrap suck for the environment, it also looks super-boring. These handmade beeswax wraps on the other hand? They’re both reusable and easy on the eyes.
Ayesha Aggarwal
It’s impossible not to swoon over this Adelaide-based jeweller and ceramicists’ tropical-inspired works, especially if you're a plant and flower enthusiast.
Meander
Dig botanical prints? Natalie Ryan’s textiles, tea towels, prints and cards will do nothing but fuel your obsession. 
Julie White
We can't help but smile when we look at a Julie White product. The South Australian artist’s accessories frequently mix vivid colour and Australiana together to great effect.

Look, we know very well what it’s like to have a ceramics addiction. We just thought you should know that Khoa Edgecombe makes beautifully earthy pieces – and also that she’s kindly offered to give away four of her Stoneware mugs (worth $40 each). Try your luck here.
