explore mirka mora’s inner world at this upcoming exhibition
The Jewish Museum of Australia is hosting an intimate look into the late, great artist’s life and work.
You’ve no doubt seen Mirka Mora’s magical works, but how much do you know about the legendary artist’s colourful life? An upcoming exhibition at the Jewish Museum of Australia promises to immerse us in ‘Mirka-world’ by tracing the artist’s powerful story through letters, sketchbooks, diaries, interviews, and of course, her beautifully naïve paintings and drawings. Held in partnership with William Mora Galleries and supported by Heide Museum of Modern Art, MIRKA will treat us to some never-exhibited works alongside private pieces from the Mora family. Lucky ducks in Melbourne will get a chance to see it all when the exhibition opens in December (though it's never too early to plan an interstate jaunt).
