Did anyone else gorge on these in the ’90s? They were a special thing to bring out for guests back in the day, and if you were a kid at the time, well, they were pretty much the highlight of having dinner at someone else’s house. (Note: they were also possibly the highlight if you were an adult, depending on how excited you were/are about wafer thin dark chocolate containing minty cream.) If you’d like to re-live the dinner mint craze, or fancy finding out why they were so damn popular in the first place, perhaps you’d care to make your own? Ashlee Marie has figured out how to make them and has posted the full recipe on her blog – although she calls them Andes Mints. That’s because Andes is THE dinner mint brand in the US. Who knew?
