creamy dark chocolate hummus
Don't knock it till you've tried it.
We’d like to make the bold claim that chocolate is the King Midas of foods. Anything it touches turns to gold. Seriously – make a chocolate version of any dish and we’d be keen to try it. Chocolate beef pie? Sure! Chocolate pasta? Why not?
That brings us to Alpha Foodie’s recipe for chocolate hummus, which combines chickpeas with cocoa powder, nut butter and liquid sweetener (such as honey or maple syrup) to make a sweet, creamy dessert version of everyone’s favourite dip. Serve it with fruit or a savoury snack, such as pretzels. If you’re feeling adventurous, swing by Alpha Foodie for the deets.
To accompany you while you embark on your next culinary quest, we’ve cooked up some lovely kitchen merch, including three colourful tea towels and a flower-power apron. The designs are pulled straight from the pages of the frankie 2022 diary, which is full of vintage kitchen-inspired artwork by Pilgrim Hodgson. Find the lot over at the frankie shop.
