According to Sanrio's official website, Hello Kitty (AKA Kitty White) has a twin sister named Mimi, is approximately five apples tall and wants to become a poet or pianist when she 'grows up'. In our more boring reality though, Hello Kitty was first created by Japanese designer Yuko Shimizu back in 1974 – making her half a century old!
