Well, we’ll be darned – you can actually knit with glass. Soft glass, but glass, nonetheless. We have Carol Milne to thank for this revelation. The Seattle artist wraps soft rods of glass around knitting needle to create coils, then unfurls the glass and is left with what are effectively stitches. After interlocking them as she pleases, Carol bakes her finished sculptures in a kiln, so they’re nice and sturdy. Take a peek at her colourful works just below, along with a video in which the extremely creative (not to mention rather rad) lady explains her process.
