cake with edible flowers
This could possibly be the most sigh-inducingly beautiful baked good we ever did see – and we've seen an awful lot of nice-looking cakes in our time.
This could possibly be the most sigh-inducingly beautiful baked good we ever did see – and we've seen an awful lot of nice-looking cakes in our time. Created by floral stylist Amy Merrick for DesignLoveFest, it's wrapped in a nursery's worth of edible blooms, and we're not sure which we'd rather do: dig in greedily or shove it on a shelf to gaze at adoringly. Life is tough sometimes.
The recipe uses flowers you could probably find in your garden, like rose petals, carnations, pansies, lilac and chamomile. There's more to it than just picking petals off the plant and plonking them on your cake though, so have a squiz here for a bit of an edible flower how-to.
