WINTER FEAST What’s a festival without a feed? Dark Mofo’s premiere event, Winter Feast, will be unfolding June 11th to 14th and June 18th to 21st in the heart of Hobart/nipaluna, smack-bang on the banks of the Derwent. You’ll get a taste of all things Tassie at the feast, and for those looking to save a buck, Sunday June 21st includes free admission.

DRY CLEANING British rockers Dry Cleaning are making their way to the island state for a one-night-only show on June 11th at Hobart’s Odeon. Spoken word poems paint sonic soundscapes of specificity in Dry Cleaning’s music – the kind that will stay with you long after the gig is over.

BAKER BOY Australia’s king of hip hop returns to the Tassie stage – this time at Albert Hall in Launceston/kanamaluka on June 11th – with more than a few tricks up his sleeve. Expect power and prowess as Baker Boy weaves Yolŋu Matha, English and Burarra language into the mix.

FOLK BITCH TRIO We haven’t exactly been quiet about our adoration of Folk Bitch Trio, and we don’t think you should be either. The clever cogs are hitting up Albert Hall in Launceston on June 12th and we can’t wait to sink into their silky sonic worlds of folk.

HOUSE OF MIRRORS A frolic to Hobart’s MONA during Dark Mofo is mandatory, and so is the House of Mirrors. Unfolding across the length of the festival, make sure to pop your noggin in at some point to see what it’s all about. Who knows what you’ll find?

DARK PARK At the edge of the water sits Dark Park – your one-stop Dark Mofo shop for all things dark and mysterious. There’s a crapload of installations and performances going on throughout the festival, and all of them free – make sure you don’t get lost in the dark… recesses of your mind.

NUDE SOLSTICE SWIM Perhaps the most iconic of all Dark Mofo events, the Nude Solstice Swim is exactly what it says it is on the tin. A Nude. Solstice. Swim. Tickets are already sold out (those nudie rudies are keen beans!) but make sure you check for resales and sign up for updates – it doesn’t get more Dark Mofo than this.

Spy the full Dark Mofo program on their website. For more quirked-up events, make sure to sign up to our newsletter.
