the social studio – art scarves
To celebrate 10 years, the Melbourne social enterprise is releasing limited-edition silk scarves from the likes of Beci Orpin, Ken Done and MISO.
For the last decade, Collingwood-based social enterprise The Social Studio has been proving that you can both look good and do good. A shop, fashion label, school and clothing manufacturer all rolled into one, the studio is dedicated to training refugee youth and giving them meaningful work. They’ve been dressing Melburnians in bold and beautiful threads at the same time – and to celebrate their 10-year milestone, they’re releasing a rad bunch of artist-designed scarves.
You might want to brace yourself, because the studio's enlisted a roll call of bona fide talents: Ken Done, Romance Was Born x Kate Rohde, Beci Orpin, Stanislava Pinchuk (MISO), Atong Atem, Gian Manik, Michael Mitsas, Nathalia Suizu, Olana Janfa and Evi O.
If they take your fancy, you can nab pre-order one over here. Melburnians can also head along to the fundraising gala happening on December 5. It’s all for a good cause, with proceeds from the gala and scarf sales going towards 20 student scholarships in 2020.
