The afterlife of curtains probably isn’t a pressing concern for most of us. But, even if you go through just one home reno in your lifetime, it’s a subject worth pondering. Like many heavy fabrics, old curtains are difficult to recycle, meaning there’s a graveyard of slowly decomposing drapery out there somewhere. The state of curtain recycling prompted Thai designer Natchar Sawatdichai to think up a possible solution: paper blinds. Not only are Natchar's machine-cut concertina designs decorative, they're fully functional and can be slotted into the recycle bin at the end of their lifetime. Pretty cool, hey?
