learn to repair your threads

This Melbourne workshop will teach you the basics of visible mending and block printing.

While repairing clothes might come naturally to nans (or those of us with crafty skills), fixing a pile of torn and moth-eaten duds can feel daunting for most. That’s why Melbourne clothing label ABCH began hosting a series of repair workshops.

This Saturday’s event in Melbourne will teach participants how to patch holes using visible mending, along with the art of block printing, which can be used to cover pesky stains (clever, right?). So if you’ve been meaning to fix up some old threads, this class might just be the nudge you need.

Fashion sustainability pro Teslin Doud (she helped put together the U.S label Eileen Fisher’s celebrated clothing renewal program) will be the special guest instructor for the day. To come along, pick up a ticket for about $16 online, bring your forlorn garments and the rest will be taken care of.
