trevor smith’s fanciful feast
Ever wondered what it’d be like to be a crocheted person living in a crocheted world? South Australian textile artist Trevor Smith might be able to give you some insight. His new exhibition, Trevor Smith: A Fanciful Feast, is currently on display at the Art Gallery of Ballarat, and consists of various crocheted sculptures of food, flowers, dolls, and other household objects.
The collection of quirky objects responds to the gallery’s Lindsay family collection, and is totally impressive when viewed in person (no surprises there, since Trevor first learnt how to crochet in the ’60s, and later trained in sculpture). Pop into the gallery before August 28th to see the work (it's free!), and take a gander at the gallery’s website for more info.
Trevor Smith: A Fanciful Feast runs at the Art Gallery of Ballarat until August 28th.
