What do old, leather-bound tomes and tulle have in common? Well, in French designer Sylvie Facon’s eyes, they’re the perfect materials for creating elaborate, library-like gowns (along with lace and rattan, of course). We imagine that Belle from Beauty and the Beast would be a huge fan of the magical frocks – particularly those that are adorned with corsets made from leathery spines and pleated paper skirts.
