retro headgear by re/lax remade

Sydney maker Karina Barker started re/lax remade after seeing pictures of her dad and pop donning pharmacy-bought terry towelling hats in the ’70s and ’80s. Karina sews her one-off head toppers from vintage towels – some of which she finds in old sheds around Australia, and others which are carefully preserved from a bygone era. It’s no surprise, then, that the hats are in high demand. Karina’s next collection will be dropping this month, so keep an eye on her Instagram or sign up via her online shop to make sure you don't miss out.

These lovely hats come straight from the pages of issue 106. To nab a copy, swing by the frankie shop, subscribe from $65, or visit one of our friendly stockists.
