In honour of ANZAC Day, we've become a bit obsessed by this flickr stream from the Australian War Memorial. It's full of diggers' photos from conflicts throughout the 20th century – not necessarily from the frontlines, but all the stuff that went on behind the scenes. Wartime weddings, homecomings and armistice celebrations; a bit like an awesome old family photo album, really. Not surprisingly, the collection also features an awful lot of making-do and mending in support of the armed services. From soldiers in battle to ladies on the homefront, the ANZAC way of life included quite a bit of needlework, it seems.
