tunesday - elephant eyes

by georgia frances king

Folk music can be like candy apples. They both have a bright, glossy sheen on the outside that makes you want to sink your teeth into its sweetness. But on the underside, you find something quite different - the tart, unexpectedly delicious tang of a saccharine facade. This is true of Melbourne's Elephant Eyes. The foursome create tunes that start off nice and dainty, but slowly reveal the true nature behind their smiling eyes.

We're premiering their first film clip "Mother Said" just to the left there. If you look extra closely, you may recognise something from the pages of frankie magazine in the top left corner... It's like the frankie version of Where's Wally! And make sure to listen all the way to the end - there's a deep, soulful turn at the finish that we just love.
