dictionary stories

Sunday night calls for a bit of light reading, and we doubt it could get much lighter than this.

Dictionary Stories is a series of short tales made up entirely of example sentences found in the New Oxford American Dictionary. (You know, those bite-size linguistic morsels that show off how to use each word?) Aside from a little punctuation used like grammatical glue to stick the wordy pieces together, each snippet has been slotted into the stories untouched. So if you’re curious where “a topiary gardener” or “a houseful of barking dogs and screaming children” fit in, it’s worth grabbing a cuppa and having a read over here.
