Literary-minded fundraiser Two Buck Books has a new altruistic take on the book-buying experience.
Stepping into bookstores always fills us with joy – the scent of inky pages in the air and crisp covers waiting to be pried open. Two Buck Books, a new fundraiser in Melbourne, has a different, slightly dustier-smelling take on the book-buying experience, but it still manages to pack in an awful lot of happiness.
Stop by Fancy Hank’s in Melbourne and you’ll find donated books being sold for two dollars a pop, with proceeds being forwarded on to different charities each month. You might even get lucky when you hand over your gold coin, with the odd signed copy from a top-notch author, like first cab off the rank, Bret Easton Ellis.
If you have a few piles of paperbacks you fancy donating, you can drop them off at 456 Queen St, North Melbourne, during business hours or from 11am ‘til 11pm on weekends. Then again, if there are a few too many for you to lug around, you could always email hellotwobuckbooks@gmail.com to organise a collection.
