New Zealand indie four-piece The Beths have released their third album, Expert In A Dying Field, and it’s an easy listen in the best way possible. Chock-full of energetic guitar, bright melodies and tender lyrics, the record is super-fun and fresh despite some heavy themes.
Expert In A Dying Field is the perfect break-up album for folks who’d prefer to listen to indie-rock and power-pop while they wallow in self-pity, rather than slow, sad songs. (Because let's face it – sometimes the most cathartic thing you can do is jump around and flail about, and you can’t exactly do that to the beat of “Nothing Compares 2 U”.)
