Say hi to Sydney Sprague, a 28-year-old songwriter and ’90s pop fan who calls Phoenix, Arizona home. Having grown up with Britney Spears and *NSYNC posters on her bedroom wall, Sydney knows a thing or two about crafting head-swaying, toe-tapping tunes. Her childhood idol was none other than Avril Lavigne, though you’ll probably be relieved to hear that Sydney’s brand of catchy guitar-pop is a little more introspective and less all-out teen angst. Have a listen to Sydney’s latest track “Object Permanence” to see what we mean (and look out for this hilariously relatable line: “I get angry when I / I see couples in love / I hope they die”).
