I Am The River, The River Is Me is a celebration and exploration of Jen’s Māori roots.

It’s been a while since Jen Cloher released their last album. But in those five years, the Melbourne-based muso has reconnected with their ancestral home in Aotearoa (New Zealand), has explored what it means to be a member of the Māori LGBTQ+ community, and has reassessed their connection to Australia. The result of such deep personal reflection is Jen's powerful fifth album, I Am The River, The River Is Me.

Fitting with its theme of community, I Am The River, The River Is Me was recorded between New Zealand and Melbourne with the help of a bunch of collaborators, including producers, fellow musos and members of the Māori Kapa Haka group, Te Hononga o ngā Iwi. Packed with thoughtfulness, joy and discovery, the record is a rather rad chapter in Jen's journey of finding themself. Treat your ears by tuning into it below.
