Harvey describes his groovy new track as “neurotic funk”.
If you’re in the mood to boogie in your bedroom, then Melbourne producer and DJ Mike Katz (better known as Harvey Sutherland) is your pal. He has just dropped a funky new track, “Jouissance”, which is chock-full of analogue synth flourishes and a continuous motorik beat (in other words, it sounds very, very cool).
The single is named after a term coined by psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan, which Harvey picked up from his therapist. “There’s no easy English translation, but it’s the itch that demands scratching; a masochistic desire," he says.
Tune into “Jouissance” (while joining Harvey and his synth on a journey through time and space) below.
