2020 threw a real spanner in the works for all touring musicians, so it’s no surprise to see that angst bubble up in songs. Feeling rather dramatic about it all, Brissy-based Hallie wrote an ode to last year’s missed opportunities – the Sydney shows she was forced to call off, the cancelled flights, and most importantly, the online crush she'd been dying to meet in person. The result is “Sydney Hates Me”, a charming, tongue-in-cheek ditty that ends with Hallie and her mates singing "Will I ever get close to you?" at the top of their lungs.
