tunesday – fill in the blanks with solo career

The musician is living up to her name.

We caught up for a chinwag with Body Type’s Annabel Blackman – AKA Solo Career – ahead of the release of her debut album Interior Delirium.

The first thing I did when I woke up this morning was…Hit snooze and keep cuddlin'.

My debut album is titled Interior Delirium because…Dumb rhymes are fun and sitting in a room making music on your lonesome can be topsy-turvy on the cranus.

The best musician I’ve seen perform live is…Todd Rundgren.

The thing I’m the most sentimental about is…Teddies. I've brought my childhood bunny back into bed rotation and am also cultivating (read: knitting) a plush of teddies to take on tour.

My favourite activity to do solo is…Rainy rockpool swimming.

If I were to have one person on speed dial, it would be…A handsome man named Jack.

The song that was the hardest to finish from Interior Delirium was…Venus on speed dial”. I started it in 2015 (it was the first thing I recorded) and slogged all the way into 2025 with it.

My favourite song to play live is...Spenda”.
