tunesday – alisa xayalith has a (slow) crush

The Kiwi muso shares her dreamy debut album.

Just as a wise man once said, Alisa Xayalith is ridin’ solo. From her role as one half of the beloved indie electronic group The Naked and Famous, Alisa is now flexing her musical muscles and going whole-heartedly out on her own with her debut album Slow Crush. A cascading journey of ethereal longing and intimate snapshots, Slow Crush is the perfect collection of tunes to listen to as you walk around the backstreets of your neighbourhood at dusk – headphones in, world zoned out.

Describing the album as “the catharsis I needed to push me into this next chapter where I could simply be ‘Alisa Xayalith’,” it’s clear that Alisa is pretty darn great at being herself. Keep your eyes (and your ears) peeled for Slow Crush when it drops this Friday. In the meantime, you can feast on the singles below.
