In the sea of sweet tunes that drift past our earholes daily, New Zealand act Tiny Ruins made us sit up and pay attention.

In the sea of sweet tunes that drift past our earholes daily, New Zealand act Tiny Ruins made us sit up and pay attention. With airy vocals and a sprinkling of brass and percussion, it's not only some jangly guitars they're plucking in their fresh new tunes, but our rather sensitive heartstrings too.

Brightly Painted One is the name of the New Zealand trio's second record, which is due for release on our shores on May 2nd. In the meantime, they'll be jetting in and out of Australia for just 24 hours next week to play a special preview show for some lucky Melbourne fellows. If you fancy heading along for some gentle eardrum stroking, it's all happening at the Bella Union on Monday April 14th. Head here to buy tickets and here to hear more from the tuneful Kiwis.
