There's certainly something a bit eerie about Spookyland's hypnotic tunes, though in less of a shaking-in-your-boots kind of way than a heart-quickening, goosebump-sprouting floatiness.
Spookyland is a rather fitting moniker for Sydney bloke, Marcus Gordon, and his three-piece band. There's certainly something a bit eerie about their hypnotic tunes, though in less of a shaking-in-your-boots kind of way than a heart-quickening, goosebump-sprouting floatiness.
A debut EP is due for release in the not too distant future, but in the meantime you can wrap your eyes and earholes around their first single, "The Silly Fucking Thing", to the left. With Marcus' knack for telling a story and wonderfully warbly vocals in mind, if Bob Dylan liked Froot Loops and hung out in Sydney's burbs, he might have sounded a little like this.
