We're rather fond of Joan Wasser's tunes here at frankie HQ, which is why we've featured chats with the captivating lady – better known as Joan As Police Woman – more than once in the past. It's also why we're doing a happy dance this afternoon, in anticipation of the release of her fourth solo album, The Classic.
Putting aside bygone bumps in the road, Joan has added some pep to her step and, from the sounds of it, made that oh-so familiar resolution to try something new in 2014. While we've been learning to knit one, purl two and the proper way to pronounce acai, she's been experimenting with doo-wop, Motown vibes and even a spot of beatboxing, and it's all come together in one foot-tapping package.
