We've become rather fond of Sydney-based muso Appleonia, and it's not just because of her merry-making, bubbly tunes. (Although they're pretty darn awesome too.)
We've become rather fond of Sydney-based muso Appleonia, and it's not just because of her merry-making, bubbly tunes. (Although they're pretty darn awesome too.) The generous singer-songwriter – known to her Argentinean parents and pals as Jessica Chapnik Kahn – recently released her album OH, and she's done it in a pretty special way.
Instead of pocketing the cash from record sales, you see, she's offering it online for nix. Wahoo! And if that's not earning her enough brownie points, for each download Vittoria Coffee has agreed to donate the value to Oz Harvest, a not-for-profit feeding those in need. After reaching 2,000 downloads in less than a week (aka a whopping 20,000 meals provided to vulnerable folks), they've extended the goal to 44,000 meals. Colour us impressed!
