the social studio book and block party
A bloody great cause is in need of a little help.
Remember the Social Studio? The Melbourne-based organisation comprises a fashion label, digital printing studio, shop and café, all in the name of creating awareness and employment for new migrant communities in the fashion field. In other words, it's a bloody great cause.
Despite their awesomeness though, they need a bit of help. For the past year or so the creative crowd have been working on a book that celebrates Melbourne's multicultural community of artists, foodie types and fashion folk. Whipped up by a group of volunteers, they're now raising money on crowd-sourcing site Pozible to turn it into a real, tactile thing. All of the dosh will go towards printing the book, whose sale will raise funds to support the Studio's education and training programs. So really, it's a gift that keeps on giving!
You can read more about the campaign here, and if you fancy experiencing some of their radness in person, they're holding a mammoth Block Party on Saturday March 14th as part of VAMFF. Featuring runway shows, snazzy textiles, live music, market stalls and plenty of food, it's all free and sure to be a right old hoot.
