This design grad’s impressive textiles are created through a mix of old and new techniques.

Today in 'impressive things design students make': Sally Cheung’s bold collection of futuristic duds. Inspired by a trip to Lisbon, the Central Saint Martins textiles graduate cooked up a bunch of colourful graphic patterns before screen-printing them onto sporty materials such as scuba, neoprene and mesh. It’s not something you’d wear to meet the in-laws, but the conceptual range does show off Sally’s imaginative and highly technical fabrics.  We especially love how Sally has used laser cutting and weaving techniques to make her pieces stand on the body like armour.
