RIP gisele
If you've cracked open our current issue, you'll have come across the story of an amazing woman named Gisèle d'Ailly van Waterschoot van der Gracht.
If you've cracked open our current issue, you'll have come across the story of an amazing woman named Gisèle d'Ailly van Waterschoot van der Gracht, a 101-year-old Amsterdam artist who helped hide Jews from the Nazis during WWII. Gisèle was nice enough to let us show you around her home in our pages and tell some of her story – and from the feedback we've got so far, we know she won a few more hearts from her appearance in frankie. Sadly, Gisèle passed away after the issue went to the printers, so she never got to see herself in a strange Australian magazine. She pretty much defined the idea of a life fully lived, and we'd be proud to accomplish half as much as she did, so we're glad one of her final media appearances was with us. Maybe she's no longer around, but she's still one of our heroines.
