We can’t escape feeling down in the dumps sometimes, but it can help to understand why we might be feeling that way.

In news that is just a wee bit exciting, our very first, very special issue of frankie feel-good is officially on sale today! The magazine is all about helping you swap ‘blah’ for ‘hurrah!’ with the help of brain-friendly activities, informative articles, eye-pleasing artwork and entertaining tales.Of course, we can’t escape feeling down in the dumps sometimes, but it can help to understand why we might be feeling that way, plus nifty techniques for lifting our mood and making the world seem a bit brighter. So, we’ve chatted with therapists, folks with lived experience of mental health issues, and a lovely lady who trains people in mental health first aid, then shared some of their valuable insights. (Including ways to help a pal who’s going through a rough trot.)There are plenty of opportunities to do some self-reflection with the help of our special section of delightfully illustrated, thought-provoking prompts. Grab a pen and ponder your goals, then figure out how you’ll get there; consider what makes you a deadset ledge and try out our soothing scavenger hunt. You’ll find fun and sweary bits for your home, an ’80s-inspired fitness studio that wants to get your endorphins flowing, tips for helping your brain handle the online world in a healthy way, and a very comforting recipe. We talk finding community, the science of laughter, art as therapy and, importantly, things that are getting better in the world – because it’s important to remember that not everything is going to hell in a handbasket.

We hope you enjoy the issue!
