long list – weddings and parties
From custom envelopes to personalised photo shoots, these talented folks will have you covered.
Special events call for special things, don’t you think? Ahead of the party season (hoorah!), we picked out some unique items and services from some talented frankie friends.
Clockwise from top left:
1. If it’s beautiful lettering and delicate botanical illustrations you’re after, Sydney-based Nicola Lauren is your gal. The designer and illustrator offers custom invitations and event stationery that’ll have your guests swooning.
2. It’s not often that you find a wedding-appropriate frock that’ll see you through multiple occasions but hallelujah, the smart cookies at Silk and Subtle specialise in just that.
3. Literally watch your love grow with these plantable wedding favors. Created by A Day to Remember Studio, each guest receives a swish card with seeded paper hearts inside. Too sweet!
4. If you’re anything like us and have a soft spot for charming watercolours, you might enjoy the work of Samone Shepherdson. The graphic designer and wedding stationery pro is always up for creating something special with the flick of her paint brush.
5. What to do when you need some eye-pleasing event stationery? Find a calligraphy whiz like Heidi from Quill Design. She'll make custom invites and cards AND can she can also whip up a custom sign to your liking.
6. Terrazzo lovers can turn to Melbourne-based stationery studio Paper Jean. There’s plenty more schmick graphic patterns available, too.
7. These handmade gold rings by Leonie Simpson are the very definition of subtle. Made to your custom size and thickness, they’re the sort of jewels that’ll stay with you for a very long time.
8. Blindingly shiny diamonds are great and all but it’s certainly not for everyone. The Wellington based jeweller Crafts Garden of Zen has some uniquely minimal options including this raw blue diamond number. Did we mention that it’s extraordinarily affordable?
1. Traditional wedding shoot this is not. Wedding photography studio Briars Atlas makes images for anyone who appreciates candid moments and a touch of theatrics.
2. Did the party even happen unless someone caught it on a photo strip? This photo booth biz is based in Sydney but will happily fly down to your event, novelty props in tow. Mention frankie and they’ll even give you a sweet 10 per cent discount.
3. If we learnt anything from the 2001 rom-com hit The Wedding Planner (aside from not to mix business and pleasure) it's that an event is all about the details. These custom laser-cut acrylic and wood place cards will make your guests feel extra-special.
4. Excuse us, our hearts are swelling just a little. Wedding photos from One Spoon Two Spoon can have that effect on you. See more sweet moments over here.
5. Looking to hire out some unique décor? Betty May Vintage in the Dandenong Ranges are equipped with the whole shebang, from tableware to picnic blankets and antique cutlery.
6. You may or may not be a little stressed out by all of these options. Funnily enough, Styled By Varu – a team of creative events stylists – are the kind of peeps who’ll take care of it all for you, including organising gorgeous tables like this.
7. If you’re keen to sidestep the lewd décor of a rowdy hen's night, perhaps a lovely satin sash declaring your new status would be more up your alley.
