This lovely lady is hand-making mittens from wool dyed by her folks back in the 1980s.

Klara Bothén’s clan sound like lovely folk. Back in 1982, her mother and grandmother dyed bundles of wool with forest plants and herbs at their summer house, somewhere in their native Sweden. (We’re envisaging snowcapped mountains and a dozen white horses galloping through a sunlit field. Oh, and it was the ‘80s, so ABBA were there too.)

Zoom forward to today and Klara is getting busy with some knitting needles, transforming that naturally coloured yarn into pretty mittens. If they make you break out in excited goosebumps like ours, head over to Klara’s online store to nab a pair of the comfy gloves for your good self.
