Last Wednesday we put on a bit of a birthday bash for a few frankie folk to celebrate our 60th issue hitting the shelves – that's 10 positively tip-top years! A night full of sweet treats, DIY craft, snags, tipples and a whole scrumptious table of sponge cakes, it was one helluva splendid shindig, and you can find some of our happy snaps here.

Keeping guests busy between cheerful chinwags was our stamp-it-yourself frankie hankie station, and a DIY paper rosette desk covered in colourful cuttings and PVA glue. A mountain of Milkwood Café's old school cookies and slices had us licking our fingers all night long, as did the spread of sponges from Beatrix, OSTRO, Fig and Salt and Sticky Fingers Bakery.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by local bands The Twoks, The Furbelows and The Pink Tiles, with Gemma Jones' DJ stylings putting our dancing shoes to good use in between. And when they weren't hitting the dancefloor, guests were getting a wee bit weird with Karin Locke from Awkward Portraits, who left us with some piccies worthy of the mantel.

A huge, whopping high five to Cassie Lucas from Firecracker Event for swishing up the St Ignatius Centre Hall and working her magic across the whole shebang. From the sausage sizzle tent to the fabulous floral touches from Grown and Gathered, it came up looking positively spiffy indeed.

The snaps on the night were taken by fabulous John Deer, who managed to capture all the little moment of awesome for you to look at. If you fancy having a squiz at what went down in that old church hall, head on over to our gallery here.

To everyone who came along to say howdy, have a boogie or lend a hand, we send you a wholehearted, guttural whoop of thanks. You turned our hearts into big balls of gooey mush, and we're stoked to have had you there to celebrate this milestone with the frankie team.

And finally, a big thumbs up to our awesome suppliers, who happily contributed their awesomeness to the event:
