Plus, we’ve got an ace lineup of speakers at chinwags with frankie.

Melbourne friends, it’s once again that time of year where you can stock up on wondrous handmade goods and meet the makers to boot. Yep, we’re talking about the Finders Keepers Market, which starts this Friday and runs through the weekend.

When you’re not gawping at all the pretty trinkets, we’d encourage you to check out the ripper panel discussion we’ll be hosting, too. You might remember us announcing 'chinwags with frankie’ a little while back – essentially, we want to help super-clever local makers share their knowledge. So, whether you spend your nights making stuff in your spare bedroom or run a small business doing what you love, we think you’ll appreciate hearing the lineup of creatives share their wins, advice and frustrations.

Saturday July 13th
Farn – You may remember designer Amanda Farncombe’s label after she took out the 2018 Good Stuff gong for the fashion category. A textile designer by trade, Amanda designs and prints her own native fauna and flora-covered fabrics.

Arcadia Scott – It’s hard not to fall head over heels for this Brunswick-based potter’s curvy, clean-lined ceramics. Whether it’s her soft-coloured coffee cups or her delicately shaped planters, Arcadia’s work is instantly recognisable.

Champ Co – If you couldn’t tell by her mix-and-match trivets and bold jewellery, Lauren Steller’s design business is all about play. In addition to creating accessories, Champ also functions as a design firm, putting sustainability at heart.

Togetherness – Local ledge Esther Sandler is the one-woman band behind Togetherness, a clothing and accessories brand built around the artist’s unique textiles and illustrations. If you love watercolours and floral prints, you can’t go past Togetherness.

You Me & Bones – Maker of wonderfully wacky candles, Waan Pivasiri, started crafting as a New Year’s resolution. Since then, she’s carved her own niche moulding candles after different parts of the human body.

Pete Cromer – An artist and designer based on the Victorian Surf Coast, Pete Cromer’s vibrant style is hard to miss. Aside from paintings, Pete also creates perky resin sculptures and special enamel pins.

Hope to see you there, pals!
