There’s something wonderfully voyeuristic about discovering other people’s daily habits; like getting a sneaky glimpse into what makes them tick, from what they scoff for breakfast to what they do before bed.

There’s something wonderfully voyeuristic about discovering other people’s daily habits; like getting a sneaky glimpse into what makes them tick, from what they scoff for breakfast to what they do before bed. That’s what makes Madeleine Dore’s project Extraordinary Routines so intriguing: she takes interesting folk and breaks their days down into a hourly chunks, looking at how they navigate life’s banalities and where their creative ventures fit in between.

As part of the Emerging Writers’ Festival her online profiles will be making their real-life debut, with four fascinating interviews taking place at Melbourne’s Wheeler Centre next week. Madeleine will chat with writers John Marsden, Clementine Ford, Penny Modra and our very own ed, Jo Walker, and if you’re in the area and a writerly type, we highly recommend having a looksee.

We’re also pretty excited to have a couple of double passes to give away to Jo’s event on Monday June 1st. To enter the draw, just shoot your name and address here and tell us why you’d like to head along. To nab tickets to any of the events, head here
