diy embroidered elbow patches

Santiago-based textile designer Karen Barbé is quite a lady. Her weaving is the very definition of eye candy; she’s penned one heck of a tome for crafty types, Colour Confident Stitching; and just recently, she published a DIY for creating your very own embroidered patches, ideal for repairing a raggedy jumper. Stitching such a patch isn’t as hard as you might think – it’s simply a question of drawing a grid onto a piece of cardboard (even a circle cut from a cereal box will do), then copying Karen’s embroidery patterns (or, of course, you can make up your own). Swing over this way to check out all the instructions, and remember to tell Google that you’d like to translate the text into English (unless you speak Spanish, in which case you can read it in the original, you lucky duck, you).
