Repair a raggedy jumper with an embroidered patch (which isn’t as hard to make as you might think).
Santiago-based textile designer Karen Barbé is quite a lady. Her weaving is the very definition of eye candy; she’s penned one heck of a tome for crafty types, Colour Confident Stitching; and just recently, she published a DIY for creating your very own embroidered patches, ideal for repairing a raggedy jumper. Stitching such a patch isn’t as hard as you might think – it’s simply a question of drawing a grid onto a piece of cardboard (even a circle cut from a cereal box will do), then copying Karen’s embroidery patterns (or, of course, you can make up your own).
