Perth photographer, Jackson Eaton has very interesting exhibition coming up soon that you might be interested in taking a gander at. For his exhibition, Single, Eaton will spend one night in a gallery space with a female stranger, documenting the nights activities with polaroids. The photos will them be on display the following day for public viewing. The catch is, he will be using a special type of film that slowly fades to black over a 24 hour period until the picture is no longer visible. The magical day is August 31 from 8 pm to 8 am at the Free Range Gallery, Perth. Pretty cool.

These little critters are just the kind of pals you would like to have by your side on an adventure through a deep dark forest. Nana Sakata has been working on a series of ink-dot illustrations featuring an array of imaginary and not-so-imaginary creatures, and we're smitten. She is also taking part in a group show at Global Gallery in Sydney this September, so if her talent is rocking your boat, keep your ears pricked for details.

The very lovely team at Eckersley's, who helped us bring the most talented Catherine Campbell to Sydney Finders Keepers, have just announced a super new campaign. 'Celebrate Drawing' promises lots and lots of special offers to get your creative juices flowing. We reckon that big discounts on pencils, drawing pads, pens and lots more sounds like our cup of tea.

Wow. Check out these paintings by Mark Alsweiler. Pretty-freaking-nice. If you're in Brissie this Thursday head over to Nine Lives Gallery in The Valley to see his work up-close and in the flesh. Living With the Living, Dying With the Dead runs until August 17. Oh how lovely it would be to have one of those perched up on your wall.

The ladies at FriedaMaria make us want to paint our walls white, pop on a pair of peach coloured socks, make macaroons and float around the house sipping Pimms and eating cucumber sandwiches. We loved the girly-ness of their website and the fact they have their fingers in a few creative pies, specialising in styling, photography, object design and even publishing their own book! Their site is worth a gander, just be sure to choose the 'English' option before you do go exploring as you could end up in the tijdschriften....
