MATERIALS:

napkin for cleaning brushes

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Affix a circle made from washi tape to the centre of the bike bell. This will allow you to paint the first layer with a clean line.

2. Stick a strip of washi tape all the way around the bottom half of the bell so it doesn't get any paint on it.

3. Using the flat brush and the green enamel, paint around the bell from the washi circle downwards, using even strokes. Allow this to dry completely before carefully peeling the washi circle off.

4. Mix the white and green enamel paint together to form a pastel green shade. Paint little stripes all the way around the bell using the round brush. Allow to dry, then paint thin white stripes over the top of the pastel green.

5. Mix more white into the pastel green to create a lighter green shade. Paint a circle along the edge of the dark green paint. Allow this to dry completely. Mix some white and red together with a bit of yellow to form a nice watermelon-y shade. Paint the remaining silver part of the bell, being careful not to paint over the pastel green circle too much. Don't be sad if it's a bit wonky, that'll just make it look cuter!

6. Once the paint has dried completely, use the Posca pen to draw some little black seeds onto the pink part of your watermelon. And you're done!
