Last Thursday night we put on a small soiree for a few frankie folk to celebrate our 50th issue coming out today. It truly was a splendiferous occasion full of lamingtons, cider, chinwags, bingo, swing dancing and loads more. For those who couldn't pop along, here's a little wrap up for you to feel the love through, or check out our HAPPY SNAP GALLERY HERE.
The main event for the evening (aside from the pretty frocks and smiling faces, obviously) was an old fashioned bingo game, called by none other than resident frankie writer Mr Benjamin Law. Our in-house binjo grandmothers flitted around helping the crowd play for classic RSL prizes like organic meat trays, toilet paper and cordial. Myf Warhurst was our hostess with the mostess for the night, and entertainment was provided by local magical musos Sui Zhen and The Good China. Going by the soreness of our toes the following morning, we should have worn more appropriate dancing shoes.
The church hall at the South Melbourne Commons was swished up by our fantabulous stylist Stefanie Ingram, who decorated our bingo tables, set up our fairy lights, sourced our giant soda pop containers and generally made everything look spiffy. Thanks Stef!
The snaps on the night were taken by the incredibly talented Luisa Brimble who tirelessly trotted around capturing little moments of awesome for you to look at. We have a small selection to the left here, but if you want to have a squiz at all of the photos from the night, or see if you can spot yourself having a boogie, just click here.
Thank you to everyone for coming and helping us to cheers to this overwhelming milestone. We feel honoured to have so many people pitch in to make our shindig the whimsical night it was, and to our readers for spreading the love. Now, who's up for a celebratory cupcake?
And finally, here's a big thumbs up to all of our lovely suppliers who helped make the night extra special:
